Location: Busch Boulevard, Tampa. About 1 ½ hours
easy drive from Orlando.
Busch Gardens is,
like Seaworld, owned and run by the Anheuser-Busch Company. It offers a slightly different
atmosphere from the big parks of Orlando, but still packs in just as many thrills and
spills for the whole family.
Busch Gardens is another
large park at 335 acres and is really a combination of animal park and theme park rides.
It's rated as one of the best zoos in America and contains more than 2 700 animals from
340 different species. Carefully located amongst the animals you will find 29 theme park
rides including several very spectacular roller coasters.
There is an African theme throughout the park which
matches nicely with the animal exhibits.
As you enter the park you will find Guest Services to help you with
any special needs, maps, etc. There are also some good shops here, in this Moroccan themed
area. You'll probably meet up with the Mystic Sheikhs of Morocco here, as
the eight piece brass marching band welcomes you with some lively music.
You can also visit the resident Snake Charmer and
her slithery friends in the Sultan's Tent.
