Attractions continued. Manatees: The Last Generation ? Learn all about this endangered species. Seaworld has created a lush lagoon to house these strange but gentle creatures, some of whom have been rescued from the wild after injury. Although protected by law these animals are in danger of extinction mainly because of man's activities. This exhibit let's you see them from both above and below the water. The presentation also includes a very effective film which you will enjoy, which carries a strong conservation message. A very moving and interesting exhibit. Shamu's Happy Harbour. This is
somewhere for the kids to get rid of some energy. This is a Caribbean themed adventure
playground with plenty of cooling water and things to climb on.
Penguin Encounter. Enter the frozen
world of the polar regions and view over 100 penguins and other birds as they jump, slide
and dive around this very chilly habitat. You can choose to either view this exhibit
whilst on a moving walkway, which transports you the length of the room, or you can choose
to walk yourself and be able to stand and watch these loveable birds more closely. Pacific Point Preserve. This is a re-creation of Americas northern Pacific coast, complete with rocky shoreline and waves on the sea. Here you can see California sea lions, harbour seals and fir seals in their natural (well nearly) environment. There's also underwater viewing so that you can see how truly graceful and fast these creatures are in the water. Again the feeding session is very popular, so get there early. Midway Games is your Seaworld style Arcade with video and skill games, simulators and pinball. Win yourself a big furry animal to take home. Tropical Rain Forest. A very beautiful area of Seaworld with lot's of trees and plants typically found in the rain forest along with their bird inhabitants. Artists in the Sand. Award winning sand artists create some colourful and intricate undersea scenes for your enjoyment, all out of sand. There's a sand pit nearby for your own kids to show off their talents. Caribbean Tide Pool. This is another hands-on (or in) exhibit. Touch starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, spiny lobsters and fish that inhabit the rock pools of the Caribbean. |
