Finally we've arrived at the last of the seven lands in the Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland. It's cartoon like space age appearance will certainly appeal to the kids and this area also offers some very original shops.
Space Mountain is one of the most popular rides in the park and it's reputation is well deserved. This rollercoaster takes you on a high speed thrill ride through the galaxy in complete darkness except for the stars. Not one to do straight after a meal and the queues here are almost constant. Best to try Space Mountain either early or late or during a parade. FASTPASS.
Height restriction of 3ft 8ins applies here.

Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin. This is another 'must do' for the kids. You join the Toy Story characters to do battle against the evil Emperor Zurg and his Robot army. The children love it because you actually get to shoot the enemy with laser-cannons and keep score. Great fun for everyone. It's a good idea to use FASTPASS here as the queue is usually very long.

Astro Orbiter is another fairground type ride, this time in rockets. The ride is impressive in it's appearance but is simply another spinning ride. The queues here do get large and move slowly.

ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. This is a very scary show and is not for young children or those easily frightened. The story is set around a 'Teleportation' demonstration which goes disastrously wrong and brings an Alien into the middle of the audience.
It is a very realistic show, so if you don't like the dark or scary monsters I wouldn't recommend it. Once you're strapped into your seat there's no place to run.
This is one of the most technically complicated attractions ever designed for Disney theme parks.
Long queues.
Restrictions - height min 3ft 8ins and over 6 yrs old only.

Tomorrowland Transit Authority is a slower paced car ride giving a good elevated view of the surrounding area and also a glimpse inside Space Mountain whilst the commentary tells you about some of the history of Tomorrowland. The cars operate on linear induction motors which are 'environmentally friendly' and part of Disney's vision of the future.
Queues are usually quite short.

The Timekeeper.(This attraction is currently due to stay open until the end of July 2002 and could possibly close again after that date.) This is a 360 degree film show hosted by a robot Timekeeper (voice of Robin Williams) who guides his assistant 'Nine eye' through time. The film is very impressive and you will enjoy the show as you see what 'Nine eye' sees on his travels.

Tomorrowland Indy Speedway is a chance for the kids to drive their own race car around a winding track. A bit too slow and controlled for bigger kids.
Min height to ride alone is 52 inches.

Finally don't miss the Parades and shows around the park. Check for times of these at City Hall in Main Street as you enter the Magic Kingdom.

'Everyone loves a parade', and they are rather good. You may need to pick your spot early as the crowds soon gather and if you have young ones they may have trouble getting a good view unless you get to the front.

See Main Street for more details.
