Magic Kingdoms most popular areas and therefor best avoided during the middle of the day.
| Splash Mountain is based around the
classic Disney film Song of the South. You enter log boats and take a gentle ride through
the cartoon world of Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox and Brer Bear. Some very good
audio-animatronics along with music from the film escorts you through to the end of the
ride. A 52 foot long waterslide set at 47 degrees, which reaches a speed of 40 mph then
plummets you to the bottom of the mountain. You will get wet on this ride and a height
restriction of 3ft 6in applies. This is a great ride with queues to match. Get here early
or during the main parades when the queues are shorter. FastPass available here. |

Country Bear Jamboree is a 16 minute

two attractions which will cost extra, 50 cents for 5 shots, the other being the Penny
Arcade.
| Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a
roller coaster ride on a runaway train through an old abandoned mine. This is a really
good ride for the family which everyone will enjoy. There are some great scenery touches
to watch out for as you swoop and twist through the old mine workings. Very popular hence
long queues during busy times. Height restriction 40 inches. FastPass available here. |

Tom Sawyer Island is an overgrown playground
which is reached via a log raft trip. With mysterious caves, grotto's, mazes, rope bridges
and also Fort Sam Clemens this is a great place for the kids to run around and adults to
relax away from the crowds. Plenty of trees and cooling shade from the heat of the
afternoon.
Mike Fink Keelboats provide another way to explore
the same waters as the Liberty Belle Riverboat. Good for escaping the crowds for a while.(This attraction closed April 2001 and may not re-open)
This is a main stop for the Walt Disney World Railroad
on it's journey around the park.
