| If you decide to explore the Magic Kingdom in a
clockwise direction (as we are) then Adventureland is the first area you
will come to from Main Street. Adventureland has a theme based on exotic locations from
the South Seas to the Caribbean. Swiss Family
Treehouse is a 60 foot tree containing a replica of the Swiss family Robinson
tree house from the 1960 film. Complete with running water, kitchen and rope bridges this
provides an interesting look at the ultimate in tree houses.
The Jungle Cruise takes you on a boat trip through
the jungle encountering wild animals and plants, hidden temples and waterfalls. You have
your own boat captain who will talk you through your adventure and warn of all the hidden
dangers.
If you can stand your captains jokes this is a very enjoyable ride. Queues do get quite
long here so visit early or late in the day.
Shrunken Ned's Junior Jungle Boats are radio
controlled boats situated next to the Jungle Cruise entrance. An extra charge applies for
these.
The Enchanted Tiki Room is a colourful 16 minute
show which is great for the younger ones. Iago (from Aladdin) and Zazu (from the Lion
King) host a musical extravaganza of singing birds, flowers and Tiki gods.
Air conditioning here, so good if you need to cool off from the heat of the day.
Pirates of the Caribbean is a lavishly detailed and
very popular attraction. You are taken on a boat ride through a typical pirate adventure
with drunken pirates, fights and battle scenes all amusingly played out around you with
audio-animatronics and special effects.
A very good ride for all the family, but some very young ones might not like it.
Air-conditioned.
