Main Street USA |
| Small town America at the turn of the century is the
theme here. The Walt Disney World Railroad starts here and will take you on a journey right around the circumference of the Magic Kingdom, stopping at Frontierland, in authentic western style trains originally built between 1915 - 1928.
In front of you is Town Square. From here you can take a ride down Main Street on a horse drawn bus or fire engine. Main Street houses various shops and eating places to keep you amused and help you spend your holiday dollars. Then on your right is the Main Street Cinema which is a turn of the century movie house showing some classic cartoons which feature Mickey Mouse in his very first starring role.
SpectroMagic Parade. Your favourite Disney characters are transformed into magical musical light forms lit by millions of tiny lights. This is a not to be missed parade which combines, lights, fibre-optics, music and magic! Generally it is only run during the busiest times of the year when the Magic Kingdom is open late. Main Street is also a good place to see the grand finale of the day, the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks. This takes place over Cinderella's Castle and is sparked off by Tinkerbell flying from the roof. This is a great show and during busy times you should get a good spot early as it is very popular and the street soon fills up. The Guest Information Board at the top of Main Street will provide you with info on waiting times for the various attractions throughout the day. |
